Boyce N. Cole

Boyce Neil Cole, 93, of Batesville, Arkansas, died Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at his son’s home in San Antonio, Texas.

Born in rural Newark, Arkansas on September 15, 1915, to Walter and Effie Arnold Cole, Boyce lived in Memphis and Jonesboro before moving to Batesville where he lived several years. He was a retired accountant and worked several years for Frolic Footwear in Jonesboro and Carlos Well Supply in Memphis.

Boyce was a Methodist and a member of the Jonesboro Moose Lodge. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed tinkering with gasoline engines, especially outboard motors. He was preceded in death by his first wife: Lela Alexander Cole; by his son-in-law: Harris Renfroe; and by 9 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include: His wife: Lillian Cooper Cole of Tunica, Mississippi;

1 son and daughter-in-law: Ronald and Charlotte Cole of San Antonio, Texas;

1 daughter: Ellen Renfroe of Batesville, Arkansas;

8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and several nephews and nieces.

A memorial service will be held Saturday morning, January 24, 2009, at 10:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel in Jonesboro with John Gowan officiating. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held Saturday morning from 9-10 at Emerson Chapel.
