Bonnie Coleman, 81, of Jonesboro, died on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She had lived most of her life in the Jonesboro area. She was born on February 21, 1941 to Charles and Roberta Mobley. She was a member of the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church. She taught school for 32 years, starting at Bono Elementary, teaching fourth grade. With the school consolidation, she continued teaching at Westside Elementary until her retirement. Bonnie was a member of the Retired Teachers association. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and painting. She was a member of a local quilting club. Bonnie loved spending time with her family, especially her grands. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald M. Coleman and her parents.
Survivors include her daughter, Crystal Hughes and husband Mike of Jonesboro; brother, Gary D. Mobley; sister, Connie S. Nesmith both of Brookland; grandchildren, Savannah Agee and husband Grahm; Max Hughes and wife, Alexandra; great grandchildren, Delaney Agee, Emmie Agee, and Annie Agee: and special friends, the Rook family. A special thanks for St. Bernards Villa Memory Care and the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.
Funeral services will be 10:00 Saturday, September 3, 2022, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Kenneth Gipson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Pine Log Cemetery with Max Hughes, Grahm Agee, Josh Guntharp Andy Jackson, Gary Gipson and Brett Foster serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Mills, Comer Reynolds, Teddy Rook, Dickey Rook, Jerry Coleman, and Elmo Mayhan. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time.
