Bonita Jane Hughes

Bonita Jane Hughes, 75, of Imboden, passed from this life Thursday February 17, 2022 at the Flo & Phil Jones Hospice House. Bonita was born in Huffman, AR on May 12, 1946 to the late Louise and Reginald Hughes. In addition to her parents, Bonita is preceded in death by her sisters, Regina Hughes Warrington, Rowena “Cissie” Damon, Barbara Jenkins, and Laura Sue Hughes; and her brothers, Michael Hughes, Richard Hughes, and Larry Hughes.

Bonita lived in Imboden for 11 years, moving there from Rogers. In her youth, she enjoyed riding motorcycles. Bonita loved listening to country music, going to the casino, and watching the Golden Girls. She was a caregiver for everyone, but especially babies and kids. She would often offer to watch the children of her friends and family. Most importantly, Bonita loved being with her family. She loved being with her granddaughters, or, as she called them, her Angel Girls. Bonita would often sing You Are My Sunshine to them. She even got to celebrate her 75 ^th birthday with them last year.

Bonita is survived by her son, Chris Harris (Rosie) of Rogers; twin sister, Juanita Jean Hannon (Jim) of Blytheville; granddaughters, Emily & Abigail; beloved niece, Carmen Damon; and special friend, Steve Dillard.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be private.
