Bobby Gene Southard

Bobby Gene Southard, 57, of Bay, went to be with his good Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. He had lived in bay for over 42 years. He became a Baptist deacon in 1986 and as Bobby said “Me and the good Lord have been talking and he felt lead to preach.” He was currently the pastor at Macedonia Baptist Church. He was the owner/operator of Bay Electric/Lectri-Flo. In 2015 he was awarded by Governor, Asa Hutchinson, the Excellence in Agriculture Award. Bobby was very involved in his community by serving on the Bay School Board and involved with the youth baseball league and served as a coach. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Jessica, of the home; son, Seth Southard (Amasa) of Bay; sisters, Vicky Southard and Sue Hood of Lake City.

Funeral services will be 10:00 Friday, July 15, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Jerry Jolly, Hershal Conley, Danny Russell and his son, Seth Southard officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements and burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery with Jeremy Morgan, Kacy Liles, Steven Cherry, Quillon Vincent, Seth Southard, and Chuck Fletcher serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Stephen Foust, Chris Wheeler, Bill Newton, Kellen Gage and the men of Macedonia Church. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 Thursday night at Emerson Memorial Chapel.
