Bobby Kinnett

Bobby L. Kinnett, 75, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Tuesday, January 03, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House.

Bobby was born in Shawnee, OK on September 5, 1941, and grew up in Visalia, CA to the late Chester and Jeanette Martin Kinnett. He moved from California to Bay in 1959, and graduated with the Bay High School class of 1959. His hobbies included gardening and showing Tennessee Walkers with the North East Arkansas Horse Show Association. He worked for E.C. Barton for 15 years, and he worked 14 years with Arkansas Baptist Family and Child Care. He pastored at five churches in NE Arkansas and they included Freer Baptist Church, Greenfield Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Church in Corning, Walcott Baptist Church, University Baptist Church in Jonesboro, and Rowe’s Chapel Baptist Church near Caraway. He was a member of the Woods Chapel General Baptist Church in Brookland.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Jackie Kinnett; and a nephew, Billy Martin Kinnett.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betty Scott Kinnett of the home; two daughters, Sherry Kinnett of Jonesboro and Pam White of Brookland; three grandchildren, Josh McGowan, Chris White, and Justin (Mandy) White; three great grandchildren, Charley Beth McGowan, Ellie Grace White, and Nora Kay White; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday afternoon at 2pm in the Emerson Memorial Chapel with Larry Loggins and Rick Hathcoat officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Serving as pallbearers are Josh McGowan, Chris White, Justin White, Jeremy Gibson, Eric Watkins, and Tim Arwood. Honorary pallbearers will be brother-in-law’s and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
