Bobby Gene Travis, 69, of rural Paragould, died Tuesday at NEA Baptist Medical Center.
Born in Bay, Bobby lived in Bay before moving to the Craighead-Greene County area in 1966. He worked several years for General Electric in Jonesboro and was a member of New Antioch Baptist Church where he drove the church van and taught Sunday school before becoming disabled.
Bobby was a U.S. Air Force veteran and a graduate of Arkansas State University. He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Doretha Holloway Travis.
Survivors include his wife: Mary Hester Travis of the home;
2 Brothers: Earl Travis of Paragould and
Bill Travis of Jonesboro;
2 Sisters: Betty Houston of West Fork, and
Sue Bilyeu of Tyronza.
Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10:30 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Larry Ring and Rev. Harold Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Lowell Hester, Bobby Hester, Tommy Hester, Kevin Hester,
Brian Hester, Charlie Wilson and Michael Collins.
Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
