Bobby Elder

Bobby Elder, 85, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, March 19, 2016. He was born to the late Ross and Mae Elder on September 8, 1930 in Jonesboro. Bobby was a member of the U.S. Army Engineer Division during the Korean War. He was a member of Brookland United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling with his wife, gardening, working, and spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bobby is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Elder, Lestal Elder, and Ross Elder Jr; sisters, Betty Johnson and Hazel Salings.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Elder; sons, Craig Elder (Arista) of Chicago, Illinois, Collin Elder (Marcia) of Jonesboro, and Chris Elder (Jennifer) of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; brother, Dale Elder of Brookland; grandchildren, Nathaniel Elder, Micah Putman (Rhyne), Bryan Elder, Sarah Jacoberger (Ed), and Hannah Elder; great grandchildren, Ben Putman and Ava Jacoberger.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Pine Log Cemetery with Dr. Rhyne Putman officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
