Bobbie Kathryn Bruce

Bobbie Kathryn Bruce, 81, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Satday January 28, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born in Harrisburg, Arkansas on September 12, 1935 to the late Luther and Maxine Holt Clark. She had lived in Jonesboro and the surrounding areas for several years, moving from Powhatan where she had lived for 17 years. Bobbie was a retired social worker for the Independence County Department of Human Service and was a member of the Black Rock First United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Bruce, brother, Bill Clark and a sister, Betty Clark Bornhoft.

Survived by her sons, Stephen Bruce (Michelle) of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Winston Bruce (Sonja) of Evans, Georgia.

Daughter, Karen Bruce Garrett (Ed) of Fuquay Varina, North Carolina.
Brother, Donald Clark of Fisher, Arkansas.

Sister, Barbara Clark Craddock of Syracuse, Utah.

9 grandchildren, Hannah McGinnis, Katie Thompson, Will Garrett, Anna Garrett, Grayson Bruce, Nicole Rickey, Michael Bruce, Lexi Bruce and Liby Bruce.

4 great grandchildren, Noah Rickey, Wyatt Rickey, Elayna Rickey and Stella McGinnis.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday January 30, 2017 in Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in the Powhatan Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Independence Co. Independent Living Program 615 East Robins St. Conway, AR 72032 or to the Jonesboro Human Development Center 4701 Colony Dr. Jonesboro, Arkansas 72404.
