Bob Winston Wright

November 14, 1931 — February 8, 2023

Robert (Bob) Winston Wright, 91, of Jonesboro passed away Wednesday,
February 8, 2023 at St Elizabeth’s Place.  Bob was born November 14, 1931
to the late Fred and Blanche Wiles Wright of Jonesboro.

Following graduation from college where he played baseball, Bob
pitched for a Cardinals farm team until an injury ended his career.
Bob was a well-known high school basketball coach that taught at Cash
and Valley View High Schools.  In 2018 he was inducted into the Valley
View Hall of Honor for outstanding service and dedication to the
school and community.  In addition to coaching, he farmed with his
brothers Jack and Freddy.  Most remember Bob for his love of horse
training and rodeos.  He was an avid horseman his whole life and
trained many fine roping horses.  Bob loved teaching young people to
rope and ride and helped many local horse owners with veterinarian
needs.  He was a lifetime member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Blanche Wiles
Wright, two brothers Jim and Jack Wright, and a sister Pat Wright
Gibson.

Bob leaves behind his loving wife of sixty-seven years Wilma Pickering
Wright of the home, two daughters Lisa Wright of Kissimmee, Fl and
Jamie Richardson of Jonesboro, two grandchildren Alexandra Richardson
of Colorado Springs CO and Calvin Woodall of Kissimmee FL, and one
brother Freddy Wright (Charlotte) of Jonesboro.
