Robert Eugene McMasters, 83, of Bay passed from this life on Wednesday, November 9, 2022. He was born to the late Robert and Geneva McMasters on June 19, 1939 in Lunsford, Arkansas. Bob was a member of Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Bono with his wife, Dale. When Bob was younger he loved to play baseball and was actually good enough to earn a contract with the St. Louis Cardinals. His dream with the Cardinals was short lived and he chose to be close to his family over his love of baseball. Bob loved to go bird hunting, he absolutely loved the hunt and following his bird dogs. He was a Pastor for over thirty years serving only three churches: Unity Baptist Church in Jonesboro, Broadway Baptist Church in Bay, and Pilgrim’s Hope in Memphis. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his son, Kevin McMasters; and sister, Auda Faye Hogan.
Bob is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dale McMasters of Bay; son, Kent McMasters of Jonesboro; niece-daughters, Valorie Wade (David) of Lafayette, Indiana and Vanessa Criswell of Bay; daughter-in-law, Tracey McMasters of Bay; brothers, Jimmy McMasters (Adena) of Corning, Joel McMasters (Barbara) of Jonesboro, and Ronnie McMasters (Evelyn) of Jonesboro.
The visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Hoggard, Bro Rick Jensen, and Dr. Marshall Criswell officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Imboden, Arkansas with the active pallbearers being Dal Hogan, David McMasters, Carmon McMasters, Anthony McMasters, Robbie McMasters, James McMasters, Cody Tucker, and Wes Criswell.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Bay Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 13, Bay, Arkansas 72411.
The McMasters family would like to recognize the Bay Fire Department, the Police Department, and the First Responders for all of their service and assistance these past several years. We appreciate you all!
The family will receive friends and family following the burial for reminiscences and lunch at 1:30 pm at the Bay Senior Center.
