Blanche Elizabeth Miles

Blanche Elizabeth Miles, 90, of Jonesboro, died Sunday evening at St. Bernards Medical Center. She resided in Southwind Heights before moving to Skil Care Nursing Center four years ago.

A native and life-long resident of Jonesboro, Mrs. Miles was a retired pharmacy clerk and worked many years for Service Pharmacy, Nettleton Pharmacy and Globe Pharmacy, all in Jonesboro. Blanche was a member of First Christian Church and enjoyed spectator sports, playing cards and cooking.

Blanche loved to vacation in Fort Meyers, Florida and Chicago. She was preceded in death by 4 sisters: Kate Boyd, Ophelia Wood, Faye Scarborough and Bonnie Hopkins. Blanche will be missed by her many nieces and nephews who lovingly knew her as “Auntie.”

Funeral services will be held Thursday morning at 10:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Eugene Merrill, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, 5-7, at Emerson Funeral Home.
