Billy Ray Tucker

Billy Ray Tucker, 74, of Jonesboro, died Monday, October 18, 2010, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center. He is survived by his wife, Janet Sue Akers Tucker, two sons, Christopher, and his wife, Dawn, of Jonesboro and William, and his wife, Kathna, of Seattle, WA., two grandsons, Nathaniel and Benjamin, and two granddaughters, Emily and Madeline. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mary Tucker and a brother, Jimmy Dean Tucker.

Billy was born in and grew up in Luxora, AR and graduated from Luxora High School in 1954. He joined the Air Force immediately after high school graduation and served for 30 years, retiring with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant and the position of 42AD Senior Enlisted Advisor.

He served as a federal agent in Louisiana for twelve years before retiring once again and returning to Arkansas.

He attended evening classes while in the Air Force and graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland with a BS degree in Business and Management.

The body will be cremated and there will be no visitation. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests you leave a memorial to the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1500 W. Main, Walnut Ridge, AR 72476.
