Billy R. Rees, Jr.

Billy R. Rees, Jr., 51, of Jonesboro, died Friday in Mississippi of natural causes.

Born in Jonesboro, Billy resided a few years in Dallas, but lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He was a swimming pool designer and a member of First Baptist Church of Jonesboro. Billy attended Arkansas State University where he was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He enjoyed duck hunting and football and basketball games.

Survivors include one son, Billy R. (Hunter) Rees, III, a freshman at Columbia University in New York City;

His parents, Billy R., Sr. and Ione Cartee Rees of Jonesboro;

2 brothers and their wives, John and Scottie Payne of Jonesboro, and Dr. Ken and Julie Payne of Roanoke, Virgina.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10:00 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Emil Williams and B.J. Emerson officiating. Burial will be private.

Pallbearers include Mike Soo, Mike Dickson, Mike Brooks, Kent Arnold, Skip Mooney, Jr., R.L. (Skip) Covington, Michael Ousley and Randy Atkinson.

There will be no visitation.
