Billy Joe Peel

Billy Joe Peel, 71, of Jacksonville, Arkansas passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 At Metro Baptist Hospital in Jacksonville. Billy was born in Newport to the late Fred Peel Sr. and Mabel Peel. At a young age he accepted Christ into his life an in 1974 Billy joined the Army. After serving in the Army Billy moved to Jonesboro before moving to Jacksonville, Arkansas where he met his wife, Jessica Peel, and spent the rest of his life. In addition to his parents, Billy is preceded in death by his wife, Jessica Peel; brothers, Paul Peel and Fred Peel; aunts, Novella Neely, Estella Watkins, and Hilda Mae Eslinger, uncle Louis Bone; and brother-in-law, Jimmy McCurn.
Billy is survived by his daughters, Marie Lark (Donald) of Decatur, Illinois and Tonya Welton of Kennett, Missouri; sisters, Debra McCurn and Samella Hill both of Jonesboro; brothers, Charles Peel (Terry) and Robert Peel both of Little Rock; six grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Billy also leaves behind a special mother-in-law, Sheila Burnett.

The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m . on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home with Rev. Cubie Wilson officiating. Burial will be private.
