Billy Duffel

Mr. Billy C. Duffel, 77, of Jonesboro passed away Monday evening, November 18, 2019 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital. Bill was born August 29, 1942 in St Louis, Missouri to Raymond C. and Ava L. Duffel. He was preceded in death by both parents and by his step-mother, Mickey Duffel.

He is survived by sisters, Deanna D. Etter, Janet K. McClearn, both of Jonesboro, and Jackie Thompson (Ren) of Lakewood, Colorado; brother, Tommy Duffel (Mary) of Barnhart, Missouri; and by three nephews and two nieces.

Mr. Duffel was of the Protestant belief. His favorite pastime was studying one of his many bibles. Billy was a four year veteran of the United States Marine Corps and had worked at Hurt Grocer Company and Monroe Auto in Paragould and also Piggly Wiggly in Mayfield, Kentucky. In recent years, he was disabled and spent many hours at McDonald’s with his friends. As per Mr. Duffel’s wishes, there will be no services. Cremation will be handled by Emerson Funeral Home.
