Billy Ray Stallings, 79, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born on November 23, 1938 in Catron, Missouri to the late Willard and Marie Stallings. Bill spent most of his life working with his hands as a carpenter. He loved to be outside, whether that meant he was hunting, fishing or just tinkering; as long as he was outdoors. Bill and his wife, Mittie, owned and operated the Country Kitchen in Jonesboro for 15 years. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brother, Larry Stallings; and step sons, Billy McDonald and Terry McDonald.
Bill is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mittie Stallings; daughters, Amy Barber (Dale), Lynn Brandon (Greg), and Brenda Brooks (Lloyd) all of Jonesboro; brothers, Jerry Stallings and Donald Stallings both of Brookland; sisters, Wilma Stallings of Cave City and Barbara Purcell of Paragould; grandchildren, Coalt McDonald (Alix), Rickey O’Rourke, Hillary Brandon, Sasha O’Rourke (Ross Ward), Kyle McDonald, Brittney Johnson (Michael), and Sara Brandon; great grandchildren, Conner McDonald, Cyler McDonald, Miller Johnson, and Felix Ward.
A graveside service will be held at 11:15 am on Monday, April 23, 2018 with Bro. James Hewitt officiating. The pallbearers will be Kyle McDonald, Drew Scurlock, Maron Lesley, Ross Ward, and Clayton Kersey. The honorary pallbearers will be Ricky O’Rourke and Coalt McDonald.
There will be a visitation held at Emerson Funeral Home prior to the graveside service from 9:30am to 11:00am on Monday.
