Billie Crumbaugh, 96, of Jonesboro, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017, at her niece's home in Jonesboro.
Born in Slater, Missouri, Billie lived much of her life in the Dallas-Plano, Texas area. She was an incredible person and spent her life caring for others. She received a Registered Nurse degree from Baylor University Hospital in Dallas and continued her nursing career working for Baylor Hospital. She loved babies and became a pediatric specialist. She worked over 45 years as a registered pediatric nurse.
One of Billie's favorite stories she liked sharing with others is about the day she met Helen Keller.
The family wishes to Thank Dr. Mulligan and the entire staff at St. Bernards Total Life Program for the loving care given and the concerns extended to both Billie and her family. The family also wishes to acknowledge the great care given for 5 years by Billie's aide, Jeanette Jones.
Survivors include Billie's nephews, nieces and other family: Dick and Nancy Crumbaugh, Donna and Ray Pierson and Rheanne Pierson, all of Jonesboro; David and Kathy Crumbaugh and John and Sue Crumbaugh all of St. Louis; Jimmy Crumbaugh of Kansas City, Missouri; Gary Johnson of Los Angeles and Billie Anne and Jim Luber of Tamarac, Florida.
All services and burial will be private. There will be no visitation.
For lasting memorials, the family asks that consideration be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
