Bill Young

October 14, 1940 — July 18, 2013

Bill Young, 72, of Jonesboro, passed away Thursday at St. Bernards Medical Center.

Born in Los Alamos, Colorado, Bill lived in Florida and California before moving to Jonesboro 11 years ago. He was a retired accountant, business consultant and operated a boat dock on Lake Norfork. Bill was a graduate of Wayne State University and a member of the Catholic church.

Bill was a past member of the Lions Club, and enjoyed state parks, flea markets and water activities. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nondyce Young, his parents, Marvin and Margaret Young, a brother, Tom Young and a step daughter, Pamela Hinton South.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Heern Hinton Young of the home;

2 sons, Scott Young (Arielle) of Safety Harbor, Florida, and Michael Young (Deborah) of Pinellas Park, Florida;

2 daughters, Jennifer Velasquez (Marvin) of Oakdale, California and Kristin Jennings (Victor) of Kenneth City, Florida;

1 brother, Marvin Young (Lucy) of Hot Springs Village;

1 step daughter, Amanda Bishop (Jason) and 1 step son, Todd Hinton (Shelley) all of Jonesboro;

13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Joshua Niswonger officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will follow the memorial service.
