Bill Stone

Bill Stone, age 92 of Bay, passed from this life Friday, October 30, 2015 at his home. He was born January 7, 1923 to William Herald Stone and Gladys Isbell Stone of Bay. He was a lifetime resident of Bay and a charter member of Bay United Methodist Church. He was a farmer all of his life. Bill was past President of Craighead County Fair Board, he was on Bay school board for 20 yrs., and Farm Bureau board member. After retirement, he traveled, played dominos and golf. He loved his family. Bill was preceded by his parents, his loving wife, Frances Avanell Stone, a sister Evelyn Roberts, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Survivors include: 6 daughters, Billie Turman and husband Bob of Bay, Sue McMasters of Bay; Barbara Grisham and husband Jimmy of Jonesboro; Carolyn Edgar and husband Larry of Jonesboro; Beth Scott and husband Donnie of Bay; and Jerri Freeman and husband Rick of Bay; 2 sisters, Fleta Gacki of East Lansing, Michigan; Marjorie Smith of Springfield, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2015 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Service will be Monday, November 2, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Bay United Methodist Church with Donald Lewert officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons. Honorary pallbearers include Randall Spurlock, Lynn Scott, Mike Bradford, Brett Scott, and Brandy Scott.

In lieu of flowers, family request donations be given to Bay United Methodist Church Building Fund.
