Bill R. Smith

Billy R. Smith, 86, of Jonesboro, passed from this life on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born in Jonesboro, Bill grew up in Lake City but lived the majority of his life in Jonesboro. For most of his adult life Bill operated Bill Smith Auto Sales in Jonesboro. He was constantly working in the automobile business whether to attend auto auctions to buy his cars, transport his cars or get them detailed and ready for sale. In his little spare time, Bill enjoyed watching television, particularly NASCAR races or the tv program "Heat of the Night."

Bill was of the Baptist faith and was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Ray Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Smith of the home;

2 sons, Ron Smith and his wife Traci, and Lazarus Robinson, all of Jonesboro;

3 daughters: Joyce Seabaugh and her husband Walt, and Hattie Lindsey, all of Jonesboro, and Shalayah Lindsey of Little Rock;

1 brother, Tommy Smith of Oregon;

7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Minister David Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery. Visitation will precede the funeral service from 1:00-2:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
