Bill Mcknight

William “Bill” McKnight, 87 of Jonesboro passed from this life Thursday, April 11, 2019 at St. Bernards Hospital. He was born November 7, 1931 to the late Oris and Mae Goff McKnight in Portia. Bill worked for the Burlington Frisco Railroad for 43 years. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a 32nd degree Master Mason and a Jonesboro Masonic Lodge member. Bill loved to fish and was an avid fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. During his retirement he grew roses and enjoyed visiting his neighbors and friends. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Bill is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Nina Charline McKnight and sister, Anne Ellison.

Survivors include 2 daughters, BessAnne McKnight and Nina McKnight, both of Germantown, TN, and brother Jim McKnight of Walnut Ridge.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 10:30 AM to 12 noon in the atrium of First United Methodist Church. A memorial service will follow in the chapel of the First United Methodist Church starting at noon with Rev Patty Soward officiating.
