Bill “Dink” Gooch, 71 of Locust Grove, died May 6, 2012 at the VA Medical Center in Little Rock. He was born in Lake City and had lived in northeast Arkansas most of his life. He graduated from Trumann High School where he played football. He studied graphic arts and enjoyed photography. He loved hunting and fishing and carving things out of wood. He was a veteran of the Air Force having served during the Vietnam Era.
He is survived by his aunt, Electa Price, St. Louis; his cousins, Pat DeFries, Lake City, Sandy Cantrell, Suzanne Irvin both of Hamilton, Alabama, Mary Mahn, St. Louis, Wilma Davis, Booneville; and a host of other family members.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William & Wilma Price Gooch.
Graveside services, with military honors, will be Friday, May 11, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. Kenneth Cantrell officiating. Emerson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be Friday 12:00 – 2:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that lasting memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee, 38105.
