Bill Freeman

William (Bill) Freeman, 75 of Jonesboro passed from this life Friday, September 26, 2014. Bill was born in the Alsup community to James and Notra Preston Freeman on December 26, 1938.

Bill worked as a tool and die maker for Colson for 42 years. He loved the simple life, family and activities with his grandchildren. Bill was a member of the Bay Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister.

Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy of the home; 3 sons, Rick (Jerri) of Bay, Nick (Tammy) of Jonesboro, and Rodney (Deana) of Jonesboro and 1 sister, Helen Onstead of Bay; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 30, 2014 from 12 noon to 2:30 PM. The service will follow at 2:30 PM with Mark Brewer officiating at Emerson Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers include: Bill Ballard, Kenny Vestal, Roger Elrod, Randy Onstead, Todd Onstead, and Donnie Davis. Honorary pallbearers include Stanley Gulley, former co-workers at Colson, and Union Brothers and Sisters.
