Bill E. Coleman

Bill E. Coleman, 79, of Jonesboro went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 16, 2013 at his residence with his family by his side.

Bill was born in Swifton on January 5, 1934 to the late Tom and Gertrude Pyle Coleman. He served his country in the US Army, and was a Korean War veteran. Bill work for Holmes Tile and Marble for 54 years, and during his tenure he served in several positions. In his later years with the company he served as Vice-President of Administration from 1974 to 1988, and from 1988 until his retirement in 2006 he served as President. He was a member of the Gideon International, and he also served on a jail ministry. He loved to be with his family, and was a member of Faith Free Will Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Wayne Collins; and six brothers.


He is survived by his loving wife, Joan Coleman of the home; one son, Tom Collins; one daughter, Angie Foster and her husband Ronnie; daughter-in-law, Segrid Collins the wife of the late Wayne Collins; four grandchildren, Amy Reeves and her husband Dean, Justin Collins and his wife Brittany, Josh Foster and wife Charity, and Ashlee Foster; two great grandchildren, Drake Collins and Kinsley Foster all of Jonesboro; one brother, Tommy Coleman of Newport; one sister, Avalene Young of North Little Rock; and a host of other family and friends.

A Memorial service will be Thursday morning at 10am at Faith Free Will Baptist Church with the Rev. Kenneth Winningham and Bro.Robert Brenman officiating. Burial will be 9:30am, Thursday morning at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors, and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.

Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 5-8pm at Emerson Funeral Home. Honored to serve as pallbearers are Josh Foster, Justin Collins, James Lawson, Larry Dulaney, Gene McCain, Earl Stroud, Joe McQuay, Les Davis, and Larry Thompson. Honorary pallbearers are the Adult Men’s Sunday School Class at Faith Free Will Baptist Church and the current and past employees of Holmes Tile and Marble.
