Betty A. West

Betty A. West, 86, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Sunday July 2, 2017 at her home. She was born in Jonesboro on March 14, 1931 to the late Bill and Alice Angel Thomas. She lived in Jonesboro her entire life and had worked in the physical plant at ASU. She was of the Baptist belief. She loved to travel, and loved all children, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack West, 1 grandson Justin West and 3 sisters, Mary (Peggy) Lansford, Lucille Ingram, Neoma Thomas and her dog Honey.
Survivors include her son, Bruce West (Marilyn) of Bay.
Daughters, Brenda Coots (Wade) and Linda West all of Jonesboro.
Sister, Billie Holowell of North Carolina.

6 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and 1 great- great grandchild.
3 step grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren and 1 step great- great grandchild.

Special Cousin, Vannesa Randolph of Champaign, Illinois.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 5, 2017 in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rev. Doug Welborn officiating. Burial will be in the Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 P.M. until service time in Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Pallbearers will be Jared West, Marcus Hayse, Jody Hayse, Devin Guthrie, Tommy Guthrie and Chris Stone.

In lieu of flowers the family request’s memorials be made to the Northeast Arkansas Humane Society, 6111 E Highland Dr, Jonesboro, AR 72401, John 3:16, 75 Holmes Road Charlotte, Arkansas 72522 or the St. Bernard’s Hospice 225 E. Jackson, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
