Betty Walpole, 90, of Jonesboro, our beloved mother and Grandmother went to heaven to join her one and only love, Paul on Thursday August 17, 2017 at St. Bernard’s Regional Medical Center. Betty was born May 8, 1927 to the late J.D. and Laverna May Moore in St. Louis, Missouri. She had spent the last 51 years in Jonesboro. Betty was a long time member of St. Paul United Methodist Church. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much and was the rock of the family. Betty’s favorite past time was cross-stitching which she loved.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband of 67 years, Paul Walpole, her son, Marty Walpole, and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter: Paulette (Elliott) Wells of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; her son Mike (Sandra) Walpole of Paragould, AR and her daughter-in-law Donna Walpole of Bono, AR. Six grandchildren Susan(Terrill) Taylor, Mark (Cristy) Walpole, Kristen Bagsby, Sheri(Philip) Sutton, Jason(Alison) Walpole, and Natalie(David) Blackwell; great-grandchildren: Colby, Maddie, Haley, Jordan, Lizzie, Josh, Hunter, Mackenzie, and Cole.
A graveside service will be Friday, August 18 at 1pm at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with David Blackwell officiating. Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers will include: Terrill Taylor, Mark Walpole, Philip Sutton, Jason Walpole, David Blackwell, and Colby Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Josh Sutton, Hunter Walpole, and Cole Blackwell.
