Betty Jean Tidwell-Gibson

Betty Jean Tidwell Gibson, 80, of Jonesboro passed from this life Saturday December 20, 2014 at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital.

She was born April 13, 1934 in Jonesboro to the late Henry and Odell Tidwell. Betty spent her entire life residing here in Jonesboro where she was of the Baptist belief. Betty was a retiree from the Craighead County Sheriff’s Office where she spent many years. She loved playing Bingo and going fishing in her earlier years. Betty was also an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.

She is preceded in death by her Husband: L.C. “Pete” Gibson; her parents, one brother, and one sister.

Betty is survived by two sons: Larry Lindley of Trumann and Cecil Lindley of Jonesboro; two daughters: Diane Matthews and Connie Jones both of Jonesboro; three brothers: Sid Tidwell of Bono, R.V. Tidwell of Jonesboro, and Wayne Tidwell of Jonesboro; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private Memorial Service held at a later date with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
