Betty Ann Sanford, 67, of Jonesboro, died Thursday, November 20, 2008, at St. Bernard's Medical Center. She was born in Caraway, Arkansas and lived there until moving to Jonesboro in 1973. Betty was a member of Temple Baptist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Betty was a member of the Graceful Living Life Group and was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Ruby Powell; sisters, Euritha Tanner, Delois Green, Dortha Gauf, and Rose Gatlin; one brother Garland “Bud” Powell.
Betty is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tom Sanford, of the home; son Tommy Sanford, Jonesboro; daughters, Leigh Lutrick and husband Terry, Austin, Texas; Tracy Sanford and Kellie Thomas, both of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Misty and husband Tony, Ashley, Corey, Nikki, Breanna, and Caleb; Great Grandchildren, Gaige, Cohen, Ashlyn, Caden, Levi, and Autumn.
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother Jerry Jolly and Brother Andy Neal officiating with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Trinity Cemetery and pallbearers are Corey Lutrick, Olin Powell, John Calvert, Wesley Calvert, Walter Gatlin, Connie Gellert and Zach Story. Honorary Pallbearers are the members of the Graceful Living Group. Visitation will be from 5-7 Friday night at Emerson Funeral Home.
