Betty Earline Peavler

Betty Earline Peavler, 76, of Bono, formerly of Villa Park, Illinois, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro.

Born on July 12, 1948, in Dyess, Arkansas, Betty was the daughter of the late James and Maxie Sullivan. She spent much of her working life at St. Bernards, where she retired from, serving others in the cafeteria with kindness and dedication after ten years of service. A faithful member of Windover Baptist Church, Betty’s life was marked by her unwavering Christian faith and her generous spirit.

Betty found joy in life's simple pleasures—playing cards with her friends, knitting, crocheting, cross-stitching, and reading. She also loved playing games on her phone, always staying connected with those she loved. Her servant’s heart shone brightly in her church community, where she was always willing to help with Vacation Bible School and lend a hand in Sunday School whenever possible.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ernie Peavler; her sister, Sharon Fugate; and her brother, Don Sullivan.

She is survived by her son, Brian Peavler of Chicago; her brother, Thomas Richard (Colleen) of Chicago; her sister, Joan Sullivan of Florida; as well as several nieces and nephews and a lifetime of cherished friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Windover Baptist Church (311 Windover Rd, Jonesboro, AR 72401) from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the funeral service to follow at 2:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Trinity Cemetery in Bono. Active pallbearers will include Betty’s nephews: James Sullivan, Shawn Carter, Jason Fugate, Ryan Sullivan, Joe Richmond, and Aidyn Stakenas.
