Betty Montgomery, age 80, of Bono, Arkansas, passed away peacefully at her home on March 18, 2026.
Betty was a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished grandmother and great-grandmother. She shared a lifetime of love and partnership with her husband, Robert Montgomery. Together, they built a family that was the center of Betty’s world.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Montgomery; her children, Susan (Brian) Wood, Jennifer (Jeff) Farber, Robbie (Kendall) Montgomery, and Ava Harris, all of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Meghan (Logan) Bryant, Michael (Rhea) Montgomery, Kaylee Brown, Kyle Brown, Kinslee Harris, Brooklynn Harris, Lawson Montgomery, Millie Montgomery, and Mac Montgomery. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Aiden Bryant, Sawyer Bryant, Wyatt Bryant, Oliver Bryant, and Bryson Wallace, all of whom brought her immense joy.
Betty is also survived by her brother, Richard Hopper of Beloit, Wisconsin.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nadine Hopper; her father, Paul E. Hopper; and her brother, Paul “Butch” Hopper.
Betty was a faithful member of Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Her life reflected her deep love for her family and her unwavering faith. She found her greatest happiness in caring for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a special place in her heart for children and was known for her nurturing spirit, kindness, and dedication as a homemaker.
Betty valued education and personal growth. After high school, she earned her associate degree in business and later went on to receive her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Arkansas State University.
Betty was also a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and rarely missed a chance to cheer them on, a simple joy that brought her much happiness over the years.
A visitation will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Jonesboro. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jonathan Griesse officiating and interment following at New Hope Cemetery. Active pallbearers include: Hunter Neal, Kyle Brown, Brian Wood, Daniel Brown, Logan Bryant, and Michael Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers are the members of Friendship/Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Betty will be remembered for her warm heart, unwavering love, and the countless lives she touched through her care and compassion. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
