Betty Lou Meredith, 82, of Jonesboro, went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was born to Charlie and Gertrude Rodery Horner in Arbyrd, Missouri. She was a deeply devoted member of the Harmony Baptist Church, now known as Prospect Baptist Church. Betty was a member of the Greensboro Extension Homemakers Club and she knitted hats for newborns at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital. Her most important passions was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and watching Cardinal’s Baseball. She also played in the nursing home’s ukulele band. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother C.J. Horner, two sisters, Dorothy Bickerstaff and Louise England.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Edgar D. Meredith of the home; sons, Darrell Meredith; Kevin Meredith (Teresa); Tracy Meredith (Sheila); daughter, Sheryl Lindley all of Jonesboro; brother, J.C. Horner (Marge) of Dexter, Missouri; 7 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Mike Book officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers are her caregivers who cared for her needs and loved Miss Betty. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:00 prior to the service.
