Betty McGee Blair, 79, of Jonesboro, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at St. Bernard's Medical Center. She was born in Dalton, Arkansas and moved to Jonesboro in 1963, coming from Pocahontas. She was a volunteer with the National Park Service for 16 years at the Grand Teton National Park, and was an active environmentalist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron R. Blair and her parents W. H. and Margaret McGee and was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church.
Survivors include her son, David Blair and wife Renee, Jonesboro; daughters, Susan Blair, Jonesboro; and Margaret Blair, Coppell, Texas; five grandchildren, Anna, Jill, Andrew, Nicole and Preston. Her ashes will be blended with her loving husband of 61 years, Byron and cast upon “Gramps Meadow” in the Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming where they spent many summers together along with their many loving family members.
