Betty Jo Martinez

Betty Jo Martinez, 69, of Jonesboro passed from this life on November 28, 2021 at St. Bernards Medical Center. She was born to the late William and Zera Lee Hitchcock on June 19, 1952 in Marks, Mississippi. Betty was a great cook who enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandbabies and great grandbabies. In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by her brothers, Jesse Hitchcock, Jimmy Hitchcock, Ricky Hitchcock, and James Hitchcock; and sisters, Frances Shields, Shirley Hitchcock, and Alori Shields.

Betty is survived by her son, Benito Vasquez of Jonesboro; daughters, Brenda Graham (Randy) of East Prairie, Missouri and Angela Vasquez of Jonesboro; brothers, Thurman Hitchcock, Jerry Hitchcock, Virgil Hichcock, and William Hitchcock; sister, Joette Short; grandchildren, Justin Holloway (Amie), Daniel Vasquez, Lonna West (Jason), Christopher Lynch (Breanna), Zachery Lynch, and Amber Holloway (Adrian); and six great grandchildren. Betty also leaves behind her loving dog, Gizmo, and a host of other family and friends.

A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at Emerson Funeral Home.
