Betty G. Marlar

Betty G. Marlar, 71, of Jonesboro died Sunday November 21, 2010 at St. Bernards Medical Center.

She was born in Sumrall, Mississippi and had lived in Jonesboro since 1962, moving here from Jackson, Mississippi. She was a secretary for the City of Jonesboro and a member of the Walnut Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Fate and Virgie Atwood Graham and one son; David Michael Marlar.

Survived by her husband; Gerald Marlar of the home. One son; Tim Marlar and wife Dena of Houston, Texas and one daughter; Liz Francis of Jonesboro.

One granddaughter; Laura Francis and one great grandson; Beau Connell.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday November 24, 2010 at Emerson Memorial Chapel, with Curtis Shatley officiating. Burial will be in Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Wednesday November 24, at Emerson Memorial Chapel.

Active pallbearers will be Mark Osborn, George M. Osborn, Caleb Osborn, Jacob Osborn, Craig Scallions and Marty Lamb.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Suiter, Bill Cook, Gene McPherrin, Darrell Williamson, Jim Cole, J.C. Moses Jim Clardy and Don Barnes.

Family requests that lasting memorials be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church 1910 Scenic Drive, Jonesboro, Arkansas 72401.
