Betty Lou (Scott) Kinnett 76, of Brookland, AR passed away September 22, 2019 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She lived all her life in the Jonesboro area. She was of the Baptist faith and was a member of Woods Chapel General Baptist Church.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Kinnett, and daughter, Sherry Kinnett. She is also preceded by her parents, Clarence Scott and Marie (Loggains) Scott, brother, Danny Scott, all of Jonesboro, and brothers LeeRoy Scott, James Scott, Carl Scott, Elbert Scott and sister Ethel Mae Christy, all of Michigan.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Pam Metcalf (Rickey) of Brookland, three grandsons: Chris White of Jonesboro, Justin White (Mandy) of Cuthbert, GA, Josh McGowan (Mandy Mae) of West Plains, MO: five great granddaughters, Ellie Grace, Nora Kay and Bailey Ruth White, Charley Beth McGowan and Haley Robinson.
Sisters and brothers Wayne Scott (Reba), Margie Woods, Marilyn Scott, Ronnie Scott, Dianne Gibson (Jimmy), Judy Glasco (Dawayne), Sharron Pierce, Darlene Austin (Michael) and Renae Barnett. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends from recent stays at South Wind Heights, St. Bernard’s Villa, and Flo and Phil Hospice House.
Betty cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking and loved her word games. She worked early in life at Salant and Salant in Marked Tree and had an in-home day care for several years in Trumann. Betty took the roll as a pastor’s wife. She also worked for the Arkansas Baptist Children’s Home in Paragould and remained there for many years. When Betty would call you Angel, you knew you were now a part of her family.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 A.M Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Rick Hathcoat and Larry Loggins officiating. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M Tuesday September 24, 2019 at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro.
Active pallbearers will be Chris White, Justin White, Josh McGowan, Eric Watkins, Tim Arwood, Brian Scott and Jeffrey Prestidge.
