Betty Sue Johnston

Betty Sue (Dean) Johnston passed from this life Sunday, March 7, 2021. She was born July 12, 1943 in Powhatan, Arkansas to Henry Jeff Dean and Nina G. Dean.

Betty has lived in the Jonesboro area most of her life and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. She enjoyed camping but her greatest joy was spending time with her grand kids.

In addition to her parents, Betty is preceded in death by a son Charles Dewayne Johnston, Jr., a sister Linda (Dean) Braden and a brother Jimmy Wayne Dean.

She is survived by her husband Charles Dewayne Johnston; son Jeffrey Johnston; daughter-in-law Brenda Johnston; granddaughter, Alyssa Johnston; grandsons, Dylan Johnston and Samual Johnston; brothers, Henry Darrell Dean of San Antonio, Texas and Marvin Dale Dean of Shawnee, Kansas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday March 10, 2021 from 1-2 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will follow the visitation at 2pm with Danny Hathcoat and Harold Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Rudy Robertson, Rob Robertson, Ethan Howard, Lee Lovins and Ricky Johnson.
