Betty Jean Harris, 72, of Walnut Ridge, died Friday afternoon at St. Bernards Medical Center. She lived at the Walnut Ridge Nursing Home.
She is survived by her son, William Andrew Tobe Harris and his wife; daughters, Kim, Lauri Harris, Dottie Harris; and her grandchildren, Zack, Storm, and Talon Harris; Torey and Mallory Coody.
One of her favorite poems by Rudyard Kipling, “If” says:
“If you can dream--and not make dreams your master,
If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it.”
A memorial service will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. at the Walnut Ridge Nursing Home.
