Betty Lucille Fletcher-Pittman, 72 of Jonesboro passed from this life Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at St Bernards Hospital. She was born to Albert and Tillie McHalffey Fletcher in Herget, Arkansas. Betty was one of two people that coached the first girls softball team call “The Tommies” and “The Teddy Bears” with Sharon Turman. Betty also played for the “Frolic Footwear” softball and volleyball team, softball for “The Golden Grocery” and for the “Eagles Lounge”. She loved fishing and camping, yard sales with her loved ones. Family was above everything to her. Betty was of the Baptist belief and baptized at First United Methodist . She had worked at Frolic Footwear, DuPont, West Dry Cleaners, Mr. Trophy, McArthur Middle School, umpire for softball at Southside sports complex and she was also a care giver.
Betty is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Thomas and Liza Fletcher and maternal grandparents, Robert and Mary McHalffey, her parents, brothers James Fletcher, Calvin and Duel Fletcher; sisters, Juanita Loggins and Hilda Sisk and her son, DeWayne (Blue) Pittman.
Survivors include her husband, Clydie Pittman of the home; daughter, Dana Stonecipher Mitchem (Tom) of Paragould; son, Timothy Stonecipher of Jonesboro; sisters, Norma “Fletcher” Toddy of Jonesboro, Janice “Fletcher” Brooks (Gaylon) of Trumann; Linda “Fletcher Reed (Bill) of Brookland and Brenda “Fletcher” Dobbs (Butch) of Jonesboro. Brothers, Quentin Fletcher (Betty) of Trumann, Wendal Fletcher (Francis) of Fairfield Bay and David Fletcher (Diane) of Brookland; grandchildren, Eric Stonecipher (Emaly) of Harrisburg, Lacy Jane Green (Brian) of Paragould; Carli Stonecipher of Paragould; great grandchildren, Everett Stonecipher, Gannon Green, Emilia Stonecipher and Brynn Green.
There will be a visitation on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 9-10 AM at Emerson Memorial Chapel with service starting at 10 AM. Casey Turner and Matthew Knight will be officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.
Pallbearers include: Timmy Stonecipher, Eric Stonecipher, Brian Green, Wesley Fletcher, Clayton Fletcher and Jim Pittman.
Honorary Pallbearers are Everett Stonecipher, Gannon Green, Ben Elder, Josh Carr and Breaking Bonds Brothers.
Four generations of family….A beloved mother, memaw and wife
