With great joy, Betty Bingham went to be with her Lord on July 30, 2026. She was born June 10, 1941 to Ray and Hilda Phillips. She was married to Herbert Shaw Bingham for 49 years and they had one daughter, Lesley V. Bingham.
Mrs. Bingham graduated from Marked Tree High School, then earned a BSE from Ouachita Baptist University. She later earned her MSE from Arkansas State University. She was an educator, as well as a partner with Shaw in their farming business. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock and a prior member of Walnut Street Baptist Church in Jonesboro.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, brothers, Harry Ray Phillips, Jr, of Tempe, AZ, George Phillips of Bay, AR, Jim Phillips of AZ, and sister Billie Phillips of Marked Tree, AR. Survivors include sister June Lowder of Van Buren, AR, brother Bill Phillips of Chicopee, MA, daughter Lesley Bingham, son-in-law Chris Tackett of Little Rock, AR, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials can be made to Walnut Street Baptist Church: 1910 Scenic Rd. Jonesboro, AR 72401.
Visitation will be at Emerson Funeral home at 1 pm on Monday August 3, 2026 with a service directly after at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest beside her loving husband.
Pallbearers will be Gary Allen, Larry Henderson, Brent Henderson, Jim Gillis, Sid Banks, and Clarence Woodard.
