Berniece Burleson

Berniece Burleson, 91, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Monday, June 5, 2017. She was born to the late Guy and Mayme Walker on January 3, 1926 in Portageville, Missouri. Berniece was a member of Nettleton Church of Christ and was a nurse for over 30 years. She had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening, yard work, and spending time with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Berniece was preceded in death by her husband, Carl E. Burleson; sons, Duane Burleson, Galen Burleson, and Mike Burleson; grandchildren, Dale Burleson and Haley Lowery; and two brothers and one sister.

Berniece is survived by her daughter, Karen Fletcher of North Little Rock; daughters in law, Paula Burleson and Vicky Burleson; one brother and one sister; grandchildren, Thom Fletcher (Donna), Tina Woodward (Jimmy), Kenny Kelley (Chastity), Candace Burleson, Ashley Bass (Brandon), Susan Burleson, and David Burleson. Berniece also leaves behind twenty great grand children.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Emerson Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Young officiating. Burial will follow at Nettleton Cemetery.

The visitation will be from 1-2 pm prior to the service.
