Bernice Bennett Reasons, 93, of Wynne went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 20, 2018. She was born to John and Ina Lewis on January 27, 1925 in McDougal, Arkansas. Bernice has lived in Wynne for the last 30 years coming from Jonesboro. While living in Jonesboro, she an active member of Walnut Street Baptist Church and after moving to Wynne to be close to her daughter, she was an active member of Wynne Baptist Church. Bernice later joined Union Avenue Baptist Church in Wynne, where she was also an active member. Bernice was an active member of the Eastern Star for most of her life, being a member in both the Jonesboro and Wynne Chapters. She was a past Worthy Matron and member of the Arkansas Grand Chapter. In addition to her parents, Bernice is preceded in death by her brother, Theo Paul Harper.
Bernice is survived by her daughter, Frances Thompson (Roger) of Wynne; grandchildren, Jenny Sanders (Jeremy), Sarah Kuhn (Glenn), and Jessica Crain (Kyle). Bernice also leaves behind four great granddaughters that she loved very much.
Funeral services will be held at Union Avenue Baptist Church in Wynne at 2:00 pm on Friday, February 23, 2018 with Gary Henson officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in Charge of arrangements. Burial will follow in Jonesboro at Oaklawn Cemetery.
Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 1:00 pm.
