Berlin “GLENN” Waters, 84, of Jonesboro, died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at St. Bernards Medical Center.
Glenn was born October 16, 1923, in Black Oak, Arkansas, but had lived most of his life in Jonesboro. He served 4 years in the U.S. Army, stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Glenn was retired as a self-employed upholster known as Glenn’s Upholstering for over 60 years in this community.
He is survived by his son, Tommy Waters, and
His daughter and her husband, Glenna and Jimmy Doyle Hunt, all of Jonesboro;
5 Grandchildren:
Kerrie Waters, Angie Hammett and husband David, Wes Waters and wife Hope, all of Jonesboro, and Clayton Glenn Waters and Cacie Lynn Waters, both of Houston, Texas; and
4 Great Grandchildren:
Johnathan and Steven Carter, Briana and Wes Waters, Jr., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Glenn was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Polly Waters; by his parents: George and Florence Waters; by 3 sisters: Ruth Nelson, Lucy Rinks and
Della Ratzberger; and by 7 brothers: Hughie and Earl Carpenter, and Bud, John, Gus, Nath, and Vernon Waters.
Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 11:00 at Jonesboro Memorial Park with Rev. Emil Williams officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow members of the local Alcoholics Anonymous group and friends from his various coffee shops, The Wright Place, McDonald’s, and Holiday Inn.
Visitation will be held Monday evening, 6-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
