Benjamin Franklin "Papa" Davis

April 24, 1946 — February 24, 2017

Benjamin Franklin “Papa” Davis, 70, of Jonesboro went to rest with his Lord on Friday, February 24, 2017 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He had lived in Jonesboro for the past 14 years, moving here from Pitkin, Louisiana. He was the pastor of Church on the Rock a non-denominational church in Elizabeth, Louisiana. As past president of the FFA in Louisiana he received many accolades and honors. His family considered him to be the greatest Papa in the world. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Aundrea Lynn Tracy; one grandson, John-Hayden Blaine “Dash” Smith; and one brother, Elmo Van Buren Davis.

Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Kathy Davis of the home; son, Benjamin Kade Davis (Deidrea) of Jonesboro; daughters, Shannon Davis Green (Matt) of Jonesboro; April Davis Smith (Johnny) of Wynne; Tina Joy McCowin of Mer Rouge, Louisiana; Jennifer Hope Davis (Russell) of Red Wing, Minnesota; brothers, W. C. “Dub” Davis of Houston, Texas; John Edmond Davis of Valley City, North Dakota; sister, Betty Jane Moss of League City, Texas; grandchildren, Logan, Ethan, Emily, Hannah, Kate, Blaine, Sarah, Lydia, Paizley, Presley and Ella.
