Benny L. Fry, 65, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday at his home of natural causes.

Born in Walnut Ridge, Benny moved to Jonesboro in 1962. He was a home builder and a member of First Assembly of God in Jonesboro where he was a Deacon for 24 years. He had served as Chairman of the Deacons, Sunday School Superintendent, and drove the church van for the senior adults. Benny was active in the MAPS (Missions America Placement Service) Program which constructed church buildings domestically and internationally.

Benny was an avid hunter and was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Ruby Camden,
Lorine Luster and Norma Smith; and 2 brothers: Shelby Fry and Lawrence Fry.

Survivors include:
His Wife of 46 years: Merle Kirby Fry of the home;

2 Sons and daughter-in-law: Ben Fry, Jr., and
Tim and Marsha Fry, all of Jonesboro;

3 Sisters: Luzene Carlton of Lebanon, Missouri,
Nina Rorex Vinson of Walnut Ridge, and
Gerldine Brewer of Hoxie; and

3 Grandsons: Tyler Fry, Logan Fry and Adam Fry.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:00 at First Assembly of God on Stone Street with Matt Smith and Mike Glover officiating. Burial will follow in Manning Cemetery near Sedgwick.

Active pallbearers include: Chris Flanigan, Rudy Cummings, Glen McManners,
Ronnie Holder, Charles Smith, and Jackie O’Connor.

Honorary pallbearers include: James Hall, Robert Stafford, Marshall Tyson,
Herb Woefle, and the deacons of First Assembly of God.

Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 5-8, at Emerson Funeral Home.
