Barry Grant Strong, 31, of Jonesboro died on Saturday, September 26, 2015 in Memphis due to injuries from a motorcycle crash.
Barry was born on October 1, 1983 in Jonesboro to Tammy and Clarence Strong. After High School he joined the US Army where he served our country until he was medically retired by the military in 2009. He was an avid outdoorsman that enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He loved his family especially his children.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Joe Matlock; grandmother, Connie Sue Dwyer; grandfather, Charles Nelson Burres; uncle, Charles Fredrick Burres; step-dad, Barry Roger Wooldridge.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Pickett Strong; seven children, Kevyn, Hayden, Kymberleigh, Morgan Strong, Nathaniel, Noah Griese, and Crystal Gayne; mother, Tammy Medeiros; father, Clarence Strong; four brothers, Stephen, Everett, Jonathan (JW) Wooldridge, and Mark Churchman; one sister, Chasity Strong; grandmother, Evelyn Wooldridge; and a host of other family and friends.
A Memorial service will be Thursday evening at 6pm at the Hoxie First Baptist Church with Pastor Jerry Clements officiating. Burial will be private with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of all arrangements.
Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4-6pm at the Hoxie First Baptist Church.
