Barry Lynn Phillips, 53, of Jonesboro passed from this life Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born July 12, 1967 in Jonesboro to the late Myra and J.W. Phillips.
Barry has lived in Jonesboro all of his life and was of the Baptist belief, he knew and loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all of his heart. He enjoyed fishing, football, and driving his big rig with his beloved fur baby, his dog Caesar. Barry was a devoted family man and his sole purpose in life and reason for living was to take care of and protect his family. The bond between him and his siblings, especially his brother Rolland, and his fiancé, Tammy, was like no other. He loved them all deeply and unconditionally. Barry, or “Bar-Bar” as his family called him, was a momma’s boy and took care of his mother up until her final days. Barry will be greatly missed, especially by his nieces and nephews, whom he loved so much.
In addition to his parents, Barry is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents as well as a brother, Anthony Phillips.
Barry is survived by his fiancé, Tammy Eason; his brother, Rolland Phillips of Jonesboro; sisters, Debbie Jernigan of Jonesboro, Vickie Smitherman of Bremerton, Washington and Ellie (Paul) Kilvington of Jonesboro as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews and his four-legged companion, Caesar.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 5, 2021 from 1-2 pm at Emerson Funeral Home.
Funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2pm with officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Log Cemetery in Brookland.07/12/1967
