Barbara June Thompson

Barbara June Thompson, 81, of Southaven, Mississippi, died Monday, November 14, 2016 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven. She had recently moved to Southaven, but had lived in Jonesboro, since 1979. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. Barbara retired as a secretary from the Nettleton Public School System. She served her country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force. She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Maurice Thompson and a brother, Bill Dodrill.

Survivors include her sons, Phillip Thompson (Lisa) of Olive Branch, Mississippi and Keith Thompson of Los Angeles, California; grandchildren Jared Thompson and Morgan Thompson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 Thursday morning, November 17, 2016 at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will be at Finch Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 9:00 Thursday morning until service time.
