Barbara J. Shirley

Barbara Shirley, 83, of Jonesboro passed from this life on Thursday, March 31, 2016 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. She was a devoted member of the Jonesboro Worship Center. Barbara loved cats and enjoyed to collect animal figurines. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth Shirley; and son, Terry Shirley.
Barbara is survived by her nephew, Jeffery L. Ford; niece, Penny Eaker; great nephew, Joseph Ford; great nieces, Nikki Kelly and Jordan Gentry. She also leaves behind her great great niece, McKenna Kelly.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Nettleton Cemetery with Pastor Scot Loyd officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Barbara was a longtime supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and in consideration of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
