Barbara J. Ring

Barbara “Jeanie” (George) Ring, age 63, of Jonesboro, went home to her Lord December 24, 2008, at St. Bernard’s, surrounded by her family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Susan Williams of Osceola and Robert Ring and granddaughters Kristen and Demi Ring, all of Paragould; two sisters, Dollie Flemon of Jonesboro and Patsy Nichols of Whitesburg, Kentucky; and 2 brothers, Leo George of Louisville, Kentucky and Talmadge “Frog” George of Michigan City, Indiana. Her husband, Wilburn W. Ring, parents Bob and Letha (Rutledge) George and a nephew preceded her in death.

Jeanie graduated from Bay High School in 1963. She received a degree in accounting from Arkansas State University. While she lived most of her life in the Jonesboro area, she lived in St. Charles, Missouri, from 1967 until 1974, where she worked for McDonnell Douglas Corporation.

She had played the piano for Providence Baptist Church and Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She also enjoyed serving the Lord as a member of the Sanctuary Choir and on Wednesday evenings collecting the money for the evening meal at Nettleton Baptist Church. Jeanie rarely met a stranger. Her smile would light up a room. She was a great cook.

Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Griffin, Mike Ring, Dean Mote, Steve Williams, Bill Williams, and Curt Browning.

Honorary pallbearers include members of the Nettleton Baptist Church Sanctuary Choir and her Sunday school class.

Visitation will be Saturday evening, 5:30-8:00, at Emerson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, December 28, 2008, at 2:00, in Emerson Memorial Chapel with Brother David Mote, Jr., and Brother Stan Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Log Cemetery.

Children Bobby and Susan wish to thank Jeanie’s caregivers for the excellent care given to their mother.
