Barbara Carol Nierman

Barbara Carol Nierman of Jonesboro, formerly of St. Louis departed this life on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital. She was born May 28, 1945, to the late Urshal ‘Burl’ and Estalee Hawkins in Corning.

Barbara worked for 17 years for Walmart in the cash office and as a greeter. She always enjoyed sewing and making quilts. She was a political activist and always loved emailing and notifying government officials of what she thought, so much she even was banned from some. Barbara would always put her family first and spent as much time as she could with them.

She is survived by one daughter, Meredith Crone of Jonesboro; one brother, Dale (Dianne) Hawkins of Pacific, MO; one granddaughter, Alex Crone of Jonesboro; and 7 nieces and nephews.

All services will be private.
